Prisoner of War (POW) Camp

My parents remember the Prisoner of War (POW) Camp for Italian prisoners was on the site now occupied by the Hook Community Centre. The site had prefabricated huts and a compound fence and was there until about 1948.

I have been told that the POWs built the Government Buildings on the Leatherhead Road and at Tolworth - if you know anything about this, please e-mail me
