Going Soon?
Places and sights featured on this page have a question mark above their future - in most cases due to a planning application under consideration.

(This application was withdrawn later in 2004) Jan 2003 Road from the mini-roundabout at Ruxley Lane to Horton Lane, Epsom (alongside the golf course) - soon to become a dual carriageway Feb2003 The current refurbishment of the well-loved North Star pub changed the face of this local landmark in two ways - one positive, one negative. The paintwork was smartened up which enhanced its already attractive frontage. The distintive sign hanging North Star traditional pub sign was lost to a fixed sign incorporating the chain name, Ember Inns. But a PLUS was the gaining of the word HOOK in one-foot-high gold on the front, under the pub name. Hook is definitely on the map after a threat to its future was rebuffed by a local campaign a few years ago.
