Chessington Methodist Church May Festival

This was a popular annual event held in the church hall on Moor Lane with a May Queen chosen for the year who would then make appearances at various local events

In 1976 this included a Morris Dancing event on North Parade, when the Stag Hill Morris Men from Guildford entertained the shoppers, after seeing the May Day sunrise on Whinney Hill at around 5am
