Suspicious Wartime Behaviour

Having moved to Bolton Road the day WWII broke out, as the house was completed, my grandfather was not known to many neighbours.

As he went off to work smartly dressed each day, one neighbour grew suspicious that they often saw him later in the day standing on street corners making notes, and he didn't seem to work office hours like most people, so they reported him as a suspected spy.

What the neighbour didn't know was that he was District Superintendent for London Transport buses and was checking arrival times and rerouting buses.
